The Rockwall Amateur Radio Club was out bright and early today at the Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy in Rockwall, Texas, putting up antennas and testing configurations ahead of our big Summer Field Day operation on June 27-28, 2026. Field Day is one of the most popular events on the amateur radio calendar — a chance to test our emergency communications capabilities, practice operating under field conditions, and, most importantly, have a great time making contacts with fellow hams across the country and beyond. Multiple dipoles were deployed on a 40ft temporary tower and were tuned for the 40m, 20m, 15m, and 10m bands. These went up quickly thanks to all of the Club member volunteers that came out to help. We also deployed a multiband vertical setup with the same bands for use with CW and Digital operations. In total we will be operating a total of 8 stations (4 digital/CW and 4 SSB) on Field Day.
